'The branches of the Astral Corridor weave through time and space, echoing fractured realities once thought forgotten. The archivists of the Black Archives work tirelessly to catalogue these tales, reaching into the furthest depths of the corridor to glimpse what can never be.’

Black Archives is a TTRPG story spotlight event, as our house GMs weave tales from across the multiverse. These original stories are self-contained and setting-agnostic, intended for both experienced and newer players. We'll be featuring a variety of indie TTRPG systems alongside our regular D&D5E offerings!

Each session will feature it's own unique system and requirements, so be sure to read the full event description before ordering.

Tonight, the tales you can expect to uncover are:

THE LAST BOAT (HOUSE GM: PHIL)

SYSTEM: Ten Candles
THE STORY: The island resort has turned into a nightmare. The beach sand has turned so thick with blood that not even the tide can wash it away. There aren't many folks left...not since They came.
Ten Candles is a tabletop storytelling game of tragic horror. It is played by the light of ten tea light candles which provide atmosphere, act as a countdown timer for the game, and allow you to literally "burn" your character sheet away as you play. Ten Candles is described as a "tragic horror" game rather than survival horror for one main reason: in Ten Candles there are no survivors.
PRE-GENS PROVIDED?: Characters will be created as part of play at the beginning of the session.

CONTENT WARNINGS: Ten Candles is a horror game. Content boundaries and safety tools will be established during character creation but expect descriptions of horror, gore, blood, darkness, isolation and the unknown. Ten Candles is a tragic horror game. There are no survivors. Please note that by the end of the session we will be sitting in almost total darkness.

MONSTERS (HOUSE GM: TIBET)

SYSTEM: Monster Of The Week
THE STORY: We both know it. There are Monsters out there. Wild and wicked things that are summoned from some great unknown and enter our world just to eat away at it. But you, you hunt these creatures, you kill them because no one else can.

Monster of the Week is a TTRPG inspired by shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, The X-Files, etc. You will be playing a band of traveling hunters, entering the next lonely town along your accursed travels.

PRE-GENS PROVIDED?: Guided Character Creation before play.

CONTENT WARNINGS: Violence.

All players who attend our events must read and agree to our Code of Conduct. By playing at the Arcanist's Tavern you agree to abide by the terms of our Code of Conduct at all times.

1 - Refunds Cancellations: If you can no longer attend a session and would like to refund a ticket, please contact us directly via Universe to request a cancellation. 3 - Lateness: For all TTRPG GM Hire events, we suggest arriving half an hour before the ticketed start time. If you arrive more than half an hour later than the ticketed start time, you will not be able to attend the session and may not be refunded. Most of our ticketed events begin at 7PM promptly.

4 - Outside Food: Please note that we are an independent business, and do not allow outside food or drink to be consumed on the premises.

5 - Animals: Please note that we do not allow animals to attend any of our ticketed events, partnered or otherwise. This is due to sensory, allergy and trigger issues.
